Boost Your Lead Generation with Web Content Writing

As most seasoned businessmen are aware, selling is always a statistics game. You can even predict your results and map out your plans so that you can achieve your sales objectives faster if you have set up your business online. One sure-fire way to figure out your future data is by using what I call the batting average method. It is so simple yet very effective. To illustrate, track the number of your web visitors in a day. You can do this by using any of the free online tracking SEO tools. Monitor and list down the amount of website traffic that you get in a day for the next two weeks. Along with it, count as well the number of sales that you acquire on a daily basis. At the end of the two-week period, compute your daily traffic to sales ratio. So, if your batting average result is 3 sales out of a hundred visitors, the question is, how many visitors should you have to attain a hundred sales?

By now, you may have already realized the importance of lead generation in an online-based business. And, one of the most effective and cost efficient ways to generate more leads is through competent web content writing. There are two major challenges in lead generation via web content writing:

  • Determining the appropriate web content for your business niche
  • Creating newer and more innovative web content to nurture and maintain current leads and convert them into buyers and referrers

If you want to really see your company grow, you should arrange a more long term approach and one of the most effective techniques is to enhance your web content writing efforts. By continuously fine-tuning your web content writing approach, you would be able to keep at pace with the ever-changing times, maintain constant communication with your current readers (sustaining existing leads), and even encourage them to tell their friends (lead referral program) about the wonderful information that they can gather if they regularly go to your website. Lead nurturing via a comprehensive web content writing program is one of the most successful and lasting strategies that I have ever encountered.

With all competition going around, it would be best to arm your website with a more enduring lead generation and maintenance agenda, a program that will not only preserve your present league of customers but also persuade them to recruit others. By without fail providing your customers and other readers web content writing that is up to date and reliable, you will always keep them on their toes begging for more information and effectively keep them glued to your website. Have you ever noticed yourself automatically going to a specific website once you turn on your computer eager to know if there is new information to be had? That is how web content writing is all about, making sure that you come back for more.

Hey there! You brought up a great point: enhancing web content writing efforts. Personally, if I come across a web site that is well written, I may come back even if I am not that interested in the topic. However, if I come across a site in my niche that shows no writing efforts, I probably won’t visit again. I visit a lot blogs and many bloggers do not put any efforts at all in their writing. Sometimes I think these people feel they deserve readers or customers just because they exists. I also see a lot of e-commerce sites that follow that belief. Great post!

    • admin adminadmin says:

thanks, Mira! Indeed… Encountering a website with no writing efforts would just be saddening. On the other hand, visiting one that makes you feel so welcome and one that allows you to explore more of that site’s niche just feels like heaven.

  2. Maija says:

I think this post is a convincing introduction to get people thinking about content, SEO, and leads. Plus, you could easily expand on the points you have made in later posts (giving them a post each) and and a single action your readers can take to act on your advice.

    • admin adminadmin says:

thanks so much, Majia! It indeed helps as I get to know more about the effectiveness of my content. BTW, visited your site too, and it’s just so heartwarming to learn that visitors can have the chance to ask you a question about using the internet for business. :)

  3. Steve Baines says:

I couldn’t agree more. Content writing is so huge for SEO

  4. The relevancy of content matters, there’s a tendency to attract and get your reader hooked on every article you’ll publish. Its targets the conversion and ROI the company aims for [e-commerce]. As for blogging, it’s not just writing what’s on your thoughts, writers have this methodology that should conform as to what the readers expect and discuss beyond that particular topic.

    • @Daryll: I agree! Considering the audience who will read the posts will definitely be a major factor when one writes. :) This is one of the greatest challenges of businesses, especially larger ones since sometimes they tend to focus too much on the products and stuff that they forget that they’re talking to human beings — thus leading to the need for analysis of the personas they’re targeting.

  5. Great post! As far as batting averages go, I’ve got a poor one on my blog but I think it’s partly due to the fact that I write whatever I please and not with my target client in mind. Probably because I just love to write and write for myself.

For my next posts, I will definitely keep them in mind.

    • @Nica: Yupp, indeed! Writing one’s heart out still counts — a lot! :) Was just inspired by the B2B gurus talking about lead generation and all so I shared through this post. :)

looking forward to reading your blog too!

Excellent guidelines for vlneraet, readable, and consise content, Lou! I am as guilty as (you say) you are for grammatical and off-topic transgression, however it is actually easier to write the way you advise people to in your article if you really think about it for a minute. In other words it’s harder to make things tie together neatly when you go off topic. Learning to write more like we talk to each other seems to be the order of the day!

  6. The content writing is really a big help for SEO but we need to consider when and how to use it. I am thankful for this kind of article because it really helps me understand more about it.

  7. Peter H says:

What do you suggest for those of us who are horrible writers? I would love to start a blog, but my grammer and writing is that of a 12 year old. :/ Guess that’s why I make music. Thanks for your blog post. I totally agree.

    • @Peter H: First of all, I’d have to say that your music rocks! I just love your voice and the way you sang on YouTube. Saw your acapella version of I Won’t Give Up and it’s just amazing!

To start writing on your blog, if you feel like you need help with the content or in constructing your thoughts on paper (or on screen), you might want to seek help from an editor (if you really want to polish your English), but if you don’t mind the perfect grammar and all, in my opinion, it’s still okay to write your heart out even if there are some imperfections — as long as you write with your soul. :)

  8. dimaks says:

Well, aside from knowledge, it is content where we capitalize. So they should be made at the highest possible quality. SEO will follow.

  9. Kat says:

I know of a lot of friends who are into web content writing as a home-based job and I must say, though it sounds easy, it really isn’t. But one great thing is that the learn so much about the internet and its business as whole. Thanks for this informative article.

    • Kat, yes! It’s quite challenging at times, but interesting to know that there are a lot of factors revolving around writing for the web. :) Also one great way to balance the human touch and the techie world, especially when one takes note of the persona for the write-up. My pleasure to share with you guys whatever I can. :) )

We (as various individuals) write and blog for different reasons…there are some (read:me) who uses blogging as a resort to get their feelings out or their two-cents known. Sometimes though I write about technical stuff. So I have different approaches for both…I totally agree that content is king but keeping your readers continually looking forward to your next posts plays a vital role too! Thanks, will surely keep your tips in mind!

  11. “With all competition going around, it would be best to arm your website with a more enduring lead generation and maintenance agenda, a program that will not only preserve your present league of customers but also persuade them to recruit others.”

    - Oh well, competition is not a secret anymore to all bloggers who want a big success on their blog. This is a nice topic. I hope you continue posting such articles like this.

    • @Manuel: Thanks for the compliment! :) I’d also love to learn more about what bloggers are eager to read more about and I’d be happy to write about these other topics. Feel free to share your suggestions too.

  12. ROMELO says:

unfortunately, not everyone is a professional writer or an expert in the use of the english language… my writing is not the best but I still do it because it allows me to express myself… if I make some mistakes or a lot of mistakes in my writing then it just shows i’m still human… it doesn’t mean i don’t try, it just means some people are better writers than others…

  13. lakwatsero says:

I agree with what Romelo said, some are better than others when it comes to coming up with good web content and quality writing. This is why we should never stop honing our skills.

    • @lakwatsero and Romelo: true! even long-time writers need to enhance their skills. It’s a continuous process naman, and as long as we have the desire to make our craft better, we can still do better and better. :)

    • Nass says:

Posted on Some great advice here Werner, it is true that if you do no SEO on your site then you can’t epcext anything to happen. Whether you pay for it or do it yourself, it has to be done

  15. Enzo says:

I’m a culprit of writing trash topics so many times but just the same I write about them because they unload me of my inner feelings. Not everybody can write in the big newspapers or magazines because to quote RAMELO; “not everyone is a professional/expert writer”. I am grateful that there’s blogging where I can be a writer even if others don’t think I am.

  16. quality content and everything will follow, thats true;)

  17. Mark says:

It’s a good thing I have a photoblog, hehe.. I’m not a good writer.. But I know I can improve in time… ;) thanks for this post! I hate visiting blogs also without a good content.

  20. yuuki says:

i wanted to write an SEO rich content (whatsoever they call it) but i feel it’s not right to write something because it’s IN and not because you personally experience or done it.

i only blog what i personally felt, touch, seen, tasted and heard…

    • definitely, there must be a balance between SEO and humane content. At times, keywords might seem robotic, but with practice and if I may say “perfect combination” of SEO and hot buttons, it can be perfected. :)

      • Rafael says:

Very good blog post. I think while some niches can get away with anomrl content or run of the mill Internet writing, the competitive niches force you to write at a level that makes you stick out a little bit more. Good writing can be for readers and for SEO, in fact it makes sense that Google would prefer this! Enjoyed the thought provoking post. Keep it up!.-= Ben@Negative Calorie Foods s last blog .. =-.

  21. sionee says:

hmmm I just write and share my experiences or what I have observed everyday. It’s a pressure on my part if I’d think about SEO this time. Anyway, I’m still learning about it.. And this is a very informative entry. Thanks! :)

    • Mustapha says:

Definitely agree 100%. I have been in so many forums where pelpoe come in asking how to get traffic to their site and the answer is usually write good content and it will come’.Bah! You could write the best content in the world and still get no one to your site. Promotion is so important but then again there is no good getting thousands of pelpoe to your site if you content is crap. A little of both goes a long way.Paula from Affiliate Blog Onlines last blog post..

Pictures and short analogies help.In real estate, I’m sure there are people who have to interact with your profession that have no clue what some of your acronyms and industy terms mean. Welcome them to your site with gentle language and then once you’re a few pages deep, open up to the nitty gritty stuff.Phil’s Tip #2: Good user testing is good! Peace and happy new year,Phil
